ZAAB & State of Soul

ZAAB & State of Soul is a jointly owned production of Peachy Records and TCB Music. The collaboration between TCB Music vocalist/producer ZAAB and Peachy Records programmer/musician/producer Steve Peach (aka State of Soul) was something special right away. The first day that they met the result was "When I Hold You", the song that went on to become the first single. The track's signature blend of soulful vocals and sexy beats captured peoples imaginations, and has led to big things.

"When I Hold You" was released on the wonderful Beach House compilation series, through influential UK label Hed Kandi. Recently ZAAB & State of Soul have signed an exclusive licensing deal with US super-label Tommy Boy, the label who broke acts such as De Le Soul, Coolio, Africa Bambaataa, Queen Latifah, 808 State, Naughty By Nature, Everlast, Thunderpuss, Masters At Work, Amber, and Murk. Tommy Boy are planning to release Zaab & State of Soul's first single in the US in late 2004.

ZAAB & State of Soul have recently completed work on their second single, "Teardrops", a cover of the classic Womack & Womack hit. "Teardrops" will be released on 6th September 2004, and there is vinyl on the way also. The single featured original mixes and a fantastic remix from Sydney DJ JimmyZ with Diego V. An album has already been written by ZAAB & State of Soul, and final production of the album will commence later this year. Expect it to be good!
